Partnership Project: Dying and Death in Europe
"What is important at the end of life?" How to support dealing with loss?
The subject "Dying and Death" is often tabu in our society. We all have to die. Many are afraid of this but due to intensive work of the palliative care networks and hospices, the awareness has grown.
80% of all people die in hospitals or care-homes. Death has been blocked out of every day life. Dying people an their relatives ofteh feel left allone. There isn't enough support available to give these people chance to die a difnified death. Care staff are under pressure and in danger of getting burned out. There is a lack of money and considering the demographical developement, the situation will get worse instead of better. We learned from eachother and found helpful tools to support vocational education, staff, dying and bereaved persons.
The results of the EU-Project: Dying and Death in Europe are summarized in a manual and in a CD/ MP3with teh titel: Yes to life.
